Consultation Event on April 11th
Another thank you to all those residents who took part in the consultation event yesterday. We had a further 191 people attend the event, as well as some who came on Saturday and wanted to visit again, making a total of 450 people over the two days. The feedback from you all was once again excellent. For those of you who took questionnaires away to complete at home please drop them into the Cricklade Town Council offices when you next pass or, if you did not pick up a questionnaire do remember that one can be completed online on this website. We were delighted to see so many people involving themselves in the consultation and hope that this will result in lots of feedback for the Steering Group to consider.

Wiltshire Council Elections -Nominated Persons for Cricklade and Latton, Cricklade Town Council Elections May 2nd. 2013

Contested elections will take place for both  the Unitary and Cricklade Town Council  a poll will be taken on Thursday 2 May 2013 between the hours of 7:00 am and 10:00 pm.

Cricklade rhythmic gymnast Laura Halford was one of five Olympic hopefuls who have been given a financial boost to realise their dreams after receiving funding from Wiltshire Council.

A Cricklade Valentine, 150 years before the e-card….by Sarah

Moon Pig doesn’t seem as romantic now (did it ever?).

I came across this beautiful card when researching the Old Lock Keeper’s cottage at Latton, near Cricklade.
The origins of Valentine’s Day probably go back to Roman times (the feast of Lupercalia). Lovers have been giving each other Valentines from medieval times (when they would recite, or sing, their greetings). However, it was the Victorians who really started the craze for sending paper cards.

Wiltshire Police are asking Horse Riders in @Cricklade to wear flourescent Tabards

POLICE in Cricklade have received a number of reports of horse riders on the roads who cannot be seen due to the dark colour of their horses and clothing.
The police are asking riders to wear a fluorescent tabard.
Sergeant Martin Alvis said: “This important piece of clothing could save your life and the life of your horse.
“Collisions with cars and horses happen and the outcome is not pleasant.”
