There was some good news for Wiltshire people as Wiltshire Council leader Jane Scott pledged council tax bills will be pegged for the next four years.
Adult social care services will also be protected with the help of the county’s share of a £1bn Government grant to local authorities.
Cllr Scott said: “We can confidently say that there will be no council tax increase for four years because people are already going through difficult times.
“Above all we want to make sure we protect the most vulnerable in the county. We have a growing elderly population and so we will be investing in adult social care.
“We will also be making protecting young people and our local economy our key priorities.
“We can anticipate there may be between 2,000 and 3,000 public sector workers cut in Wiltshire over the coming four years and we need to make sure we are bringing jobs in for them.”
