The BBC Series “Escape to the Country” visited Latton Alpacas during July to film an episode in the series which helps prospective buyers find their dream home in the country.
Mym said that the programme will be aired sometime in the autumn and from four hours filming I think we will get a four minute slot! We had great fun with the presenter Denise Nurse but woke up in the morning dreading the thought of seeing ourselves on TV! Things that we’d manage normally quite easily became complicated and difficult with 5 camera crew, different angles and avoiding any girls likely to spit at Denise!
Denise bought a number of items from our Alpaca Craft Shop as did the camera crew. The whole thing was centered around the thriving wool production in the Middle Ages, the decline in the 19th century and now a resurgence thanks to alpacas! We’re hoping it will raise the profile of alpacas as a sustainable business in the UK.”
