G4P – Newsletter 9 – April 2013
1. Patient Information evenings
We held our third information meeting on 12 March when the subject was Ovarian Cancer. This was a very informative evening and there were a good number of attendees. Debbie Denley, Gynae/oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist at GWH, spoke on the symptoms and treatment of ovarian cancer. Also present were Tracey and her husband and all present were impressed with how they are coping with their situation following her diagnosis. Her courage and positive attitude were an inspiration to all.
Our next information meeting will be in the autumn.
2. Telephone contact with doctors
The surgery has asked us to let you know that it is not always possible to speak to a doctor on the phone except in genuinely urgent situations. Please be understanding in your contact with surgery staff.
3. Online repeat prescriptions
When requesting repeat prescriptions online please only add important and necessary information in the lower box of the form as anything added to this box can require doctor review and slow the process.
4. Follow us on twitter
G4P now has its own twitter feed, the username is @PurtonSurgery – a useful way of keeping up to date with G4P. However, this should not be used as a way of raising issues with the surgery, and we ask that communication with G4P is through the surgery or by emailing email@example.com.
