Two bodies found by Cricklade Health Walkers- Police not involved !

On Friday morning on the 6th. December 2013 the Cricklade Health Walkers found on their circular walking route two bodies of dead Hedgehogs. One in the centre Thames Lane which had been run over and flattened. The other in the gutter of Westmill Lane . These sighting were reported to the Hedgehog Research at Reading University. Ben Williams collected the remains for analysis.
He mentioned that the response from the public regarding sightings have been low and sporadic and hope that it would increase. It was last July that they  requested help with a hedgehog conservation project along the M4 corridor. Full details HERE
If you can help to report any sightings, please get in touch via this email: hedgehogs@reading.ac.uk.

  1. Brilliant Bugle Peter!!
Easy to read – very informative – everything locals and visitors alike need to know.
Thank you for your hard work and well done

  2. Just remember, if you find a live hedgehog, put it in a plastic bag and quickly( they are full of fleas) transfer it to your garden. they will eat all slugs and crawlies. If dead, it’s nice with Fava beans and a nice Merlot.
