The Cricklade branch of the Royal British Legion is to hold a General Meeting on Wednesday 19th February commencing at 7.15 pm in the White Hart Hotel Cricklade (Members only).

The Cricklade Branch of the Royal British Legion are holding their Annual Parade and Remembrance Parade and Service this weekend. The 437(T) Sqdn, Royal Canadian Air Force, (formed at Blakehill Farm in 1944) will join with the Cricklade Royal British Legion, Cricklade Band, Civic and uniformed groups on Sunday for the Remembrance Day Parade and wreath-laying service. Every November The Royal British Legion presents the nation with the opportunity to remember all those who have lost their lives in defence of our Country, the fight against terrorism and to support democracy in the world. This year celebrates the 90th anniversary of the formation of the British Legion. All the people of Cricklade and surrounding districts are invited to join in the remembrance events.
The schedule for the day will be as follows:
Organisations wishing to lay a wreath at the War Memorial should contact Mrs Tina Jones at the Town Council offices (751394) The Offices will be open on Remembrance Sunday Morning for the collection of wreaths and a cup of coffee.
10.10am Cricklade Band march from “The Club” to the Town Hall
10.25 am The Band lead Veterans/Scouts/Guides/Schools to War Memorial
10.50 am Wreath laying commences
11.00 am The Two minutes Silence
11.10 am Band lead parade to St. Sampson’s Church.
11.25 am Remembrance Service commences
12.40 pm Short service and wreath laying at Blakehill Farm Memorials.

At the meeting of the WOOTTON BASSETT and CRICKLADE AREA BOARD of Wiltshire Council held on Wednesday evening the 2nd. February, the members unanimously agreed to the awarding of the following Grant Applications.
Cricklade Jenner Hall £864 to upgrade for protection and alarm system.
Cricklade Heritage Trail Project £5,000 to design and install 18 historic interpretation boards.
Wooton Bassett museum and Heritage group £916 to purchase IT equipment.
Cricklade Branch Royal Legion £960 to produce a carpet flower bed.
